(Scroll down for video) A man was shot after he kidnapped an adult who had a concealed weapon, according to police in Ohio.

Larry Niko Mausali, 24, of Columbus, demanded a man’s wallet before forcing him into a car at gunpoint.

Mausali then told his victim that he was heading to an ATM where he was going to force the victim to withdraw money.

Kenneth Owens, 46, panicked after being kidnapped at gunpoint. Unbeknownst to Mausali, his victim was also carrying a gun.

Owens pulled his own gun and shot Mausali in the neck while driving at about 7:00 p.m. Owens immediately called police and told them about the shooting.

Mausali was taken to Mount Carmel West Hospital, where he died shortly after the shooting.

Police are investigating whether Owens’ decision to fatally shoot Mausali was justified.

Mausali was previously charged with burglary and carrying a concealed weapon.
