(Scroll down for video) A deputy who looked after prisoners for the past 18 years, will now join them behind bars.
Deputy John Kamphaus, 40, of Kentucky, is facing a serious criminal charge in Kenton County.
Kamphaus was a deputy sheriff in Hamilton County
when he was accused of talking to a 15-year-old girl for almost one year before he decided to meet her for sex.
Kamphaus had set up a meeting at Mills Road Park in Independence, with what he thought was the young girl. However, the 15-year-old girl turned out to be an undercover officer. Three police cars and one unmarked police car waited for the deputy at the park. Around 1:30 a.m., Kamphaus arrived at the park, but it was locked so he kept driving.
The officers pulled him over and Kamphaus identified himself as a law enforcement officer. During his arrest, police took Kamphaus’ phone and found conversations between the deputy and the undercover officer, who pretended to be the 15 year old.
