(Scroll down for video) What was supposed to be the most exciting time of their life, turned into a tragedy for one bride and groom.
John Redman of Georgia, and Brittany Huber, were driving to Huber’s hometown of Alabama, where they were supposed to get married on Saturday.
However, rather than walking their daughter down the aisle, Huber’s parents will bury her.
Family and friends are mourning the loss of the 24-year-old bride-to-be after the couple’s car crashed on the way for what should have been one of the happiest days of her life.
According to authorities, the accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on I-85 southbound in Meriwether County.
Authorities said that the groom, 23-year-old Redman of Dalton, was injured, and the bride to be, Huber, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Redman lost control of the vehicle and hit the median of a bridge. He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
Redman graduated from Spring Hill College. He is currently an assistant basketball coach at the Dalton State College.
