A woman was jailed after she was found guilty of abusing her niece.

The young girl was tortured and used as a slave by her aunt.

Witnesses told the court that the woman treated her own children very well and only abused her sister’s daughter.

The aunt, 39, of Mpumalanga, South Africa, was ordered held without bail as she awaits sentencing.

The woman appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on charges of child abuse and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The abuse began when the child’s father died and her mother was unable to care for her. The child was to be raised by the aunt.

However, the woman used her niece as a slave. She did allow her niece to go to school, but forced her to cook and clean the house.

When the child, who is now 13, was hospitalized, doctors found that she was abused with a plier. Her fingers, toes and private parts had signs of being pinched with pliers.

Doctor also found wounds and bruises all over the girl’s body.

In one incident, the aunt allegedly forced the child to dig through feces to find a key that fell into the toilet, the court heard.

The court also heard that the girl was forced to drink her own urine and eat her own feces.

The aunt denied the allegations made against her and claimed that the doctors and her neighbors were lying.

However, the evidence was overwhelming and the woman was found guilty of the charges.
