A couple was arrested and charged with public lewdness after they were seen having sex on a church lawn during a wedding ceremony, police in Utah said.
Salt Lake City Police said that wedding guests were surprised to see the 60-year-old woman and the 56-year-old man engage in sex acts.
According to the police investigation, police officers were called to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church around 6:00 p.m., after a guest at the wedding ran into the road to stop a passing police cruiser.
The responding officer reported that he saw Sandra Kruser and Wilson Benally sitting on the lawn of the church and having oral sex. According to the police report, at least four children witnessed the sex act.
When the police officer told the couple to stop having sex they ignored the order. Kruser and Benally were not invited to the wedding ceremony.
The couple stopped having sex after being pulled apart by police.
The two were charged with public lewdness and drunkenness. Benally was also charged with trespassing. Bail was set at $2,000 each.
