A man who became angry at a girl, decided to shove hot pizza into her face, police in Massachusetts said.
Police arrested the 21-year-old man on Friday night, after he allegedly pushed a slice of hot pizza, which he took from a microwave oven, into the face of the 6 year old, causing first degree burns.
James Vincent Grass, who lives at 24 Call Street, denied the charges against him. He was released in lieu of $500 bond.
According to the police investigation, officers were called to the home shortly after 7:00 p.m., on a report of an assault and battery. The girl’s mother told police that she came to the house to pick up her daughter and saw that she was holding a towel on her chin.
When the mother asked what happened, the girl said that Grass shoved hot pizza into her face. The girl said that she was in the kitchen when the suspect put a slice of pizza in the microwave oven to warm up and then left the room. The girl said that she shut off the microwave oven because the pizza began to overheat.
That angered Grass and he started yelling at the girl. When the girl told Grass that the pizza was hot he shoved it into her face.
Grass however, told police that the girl asked to smell the pizza when a piece of cheese stuck to her chin.
Grass was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment of a child and violation of a restraining order. A child abuse report was filed with the Department of Children and Families.
