Crown Heights man arrested for harassing Jewish girls and throwing rocks

A Crown Heights man was arrested and charged with harassment after allegedly harassing Jewish girl, police in New York said.

Brooklyn Police said that the man was arrested on Tuesday night, after throwing a rock at a vehicle driven by Shomrim Patrol volunteer.

The man, along with a friend, were harassing two Jewish girls, who were walking on Montgomery Street minutes earlier.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m., near the Montgomery Street and New York Avenue intersection. The Shomrim Patrol volunteer, observed the two black men harassing the two Jewish girls.

The patrol member tried to talk with the suspects, but they shouted profanities and expletives at him. After a few minutes, the suspect picked up a stone and threw it at the Shomrim Patrol member’s car, causing minor damage.

Police arrived at the scene, and arrested one of the men. The suspect was charged with criminal mischief.
