A Borough Park man was arrested after he broke into the car belonging to a Community Board member, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that they arrested 29-year-old Sean Ryan, early Tuesday morning.
The incident began when Shomrim Patrol received a call at 12:15 a.m., to report a man on a bicycle looking into a parked car. Two members who responded to the scene, observed the suspect taking out items of the vehicle, which was parked in front of 1611 49th Street.
He took off on his bike. The two Shomrim Patrol members followed the suspect and called police, who arrested him at 17th Avenue and 51st Street.
The car belongs to Community Board member Barry Spitzer. Ryan is being charged with theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property.
