(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged after he attempted to strangle his daughter in front of her teammates.
The father of Oregon, placed his young daughter into a headlock at the Lake Oswego softball game and attempted to snatch her phone away from her.
The girl reportedly wanted to call her mother to tell her that the father was driving drunk.
Brett Miller, 46, did not want her to make the call so he tried to force her into handing over the phone by choking her.
Police were called after several people at the softball game between the Clackamas High School and Lakeridge High School, witnessed the violence.
Staff member told the father to get off school grounds, so he left. Police officers located Miller and arrested him.
Initial police reports indicated that Miller was choking his daughter, who was unhurt after being released from her father’s grip.
Miller was charged with harassment and driving under the influence. He was released from jail after posting bond.
