(Scroll down for video) A young boy was shot while his uncle showed off his guns.
10-year-old Hunter Pedersen from New Jersey, was shot dead on Saturday, when his uncle pointed the laser pointer of a gun at the child’s head and it accidentally discharged.
Hunter Pedersen was visiting his grandparents in Delaware, when he was shot above the eye by 34-year-old Chad Olm.
Olm had been showing his gun collection to his own son and to Pedersen. He told police that he did not realize that the gun was loaded.
Olm told police that they played with the laser of the gun. He first pointed it to the ceiling, but then playfully pointed the red laser dot at the child’s head. That is when he was shot and killed.
Pedersen’s parents and two sisters are devastated by the incident. Hunter Pedersen’s father said that his brother-in-law loved the child very much.
Olm was arrested and charged with criminal homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
