(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested after a woman had seen his hand in his pants next to her child.
The mother of Taiwan, took her daughters to the Eslite bookstore in Taipei.
She allowed her 9-year-old daughter to spend time alone in the book section for children, while she searched for a cookbook.
However, when the mother returned, she saw a man, identified as Chang, sitting near her daughter with his hand moving in his pants.
The distraught mother, thinking the man was masturbating next to her daughter, began screaming.
She rebuked the man and he soon ran out the store.
The mother asked employees to provide surveillance footage and called police, who launched an investigation.
The man was arrested and charged for the lewd act.
However, the man maintained his innocence, and claimed that he had been scratching between his legs because of a chronic rash, which is known as ringworm.
Ringworm or crotch-rot is a skin infection due to a fungus.
The man claimed that he placed his hands inside his pants to relieve the itching.
The man brought medical records and photographs as evidence of his condition.
After reviewing his medical records, prosecutor reviewed the surveillance videos of the store and found that while his hands were in his pants, Chang did not expose himself, so they agreed to dismiss the case against him.
