(Scroll down for video) An experienced hunter was seriously injured after being shot by his own cousin, police in New Hampshire said.

57-year-old Glenn Ranfos has 5 bullets stuck in the body, including one in the spleen after a hunting accident over the weekend.

The incident occurred while he was squatting in the woods in Dunbarton, just to kill a turkey. At one point, he turned around and a gun was pointed at him.

He was shot by his hunting companion, Kenneth Ranfos, who was about 90 feet away. He immediately started bleeding from his forehead.

When he told his cousin that he was shot he couldn’t believe it, as he really thought he shot at a turkey. Police said that this should not have happened, as a human is not easily mistaken for a turkey.

Kenneth Ranfos could face criminal charges and his hunting license will probably be suspended. However, Glenn Ranfos said that he will still go out hunting with his cousin.
