(Scroll down for video) Parents were furious when they found their newborn baby’s mouth covered with tape.

Ryan Noval and Jasmine Badocdoc, were overjoyed with the birth of their son, Yohannes Noval.

Baby Noval stayed at the Philippines hospital for a few extra days after birth because he had an infection.

The baby’s parents went to visit him at the nursery room of the private hospital where he had been staying, when they suddenly saw their baby’s mouth taped shut.

When the couple questioned the staff, a nurse told them that she had to tape to the child’s mouth because he was constantly crying and making noise.

Mr. Noval said that his partner asked the nurse to remove the tape, but she allegedly replied: “You can go ahead and do it yourself, mam.”

The mother was afraid that she might hurt the baby while removing the tape, and the nurse finally agreed to remove the tape herself.

The angry father posted the photo of his baby with tape over his mouth to Facebook and wrote: “I know my son Yohannes Noval cannot talk about his horrible experience at the hands of the nurse attending to him, so we have to speak up for him.”

One nurse claimed that the tape was placed to hold the baby’s pacifier in his mouth. However, that did not work as the pacifier fell out of his mouth when he cried.

An investigation is being conducted by the hospital over the incident.
