Pine Lawn Police said that they arrested a teenager for shooting the man, who refused to buy beer at a convenience store.
17-year-old Carlos Blue was charged on Tuesday, with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
The victim, 47-year-old David B. Porter Sr., was shot in the back on Natural Bridge Road near Pine Grove Avenue. He was seriously injured.
The incident occurred when Porter had refused to buy beer for Blue, and when Porter left the store, Blue was waiting for him and confronted him. Porter also refused to hand over his wallet, police said.
That is when Blue opened fire. Blue’s friend grabbed the wallet and they fled from the seen.
19-year-old Monte A. Johnson, was charged on Tuesday, with theft. Police said officers stopped and saw the two teenagers rummaging through the pockets of the victim.
Blue lives in the 6100 block of Payne Avenue, while Johnson lives in the 3400 block of Ridgedale Avenue. Porter was rushed to the nearest hospital, and doctors believe that he will remain paralyzed.
