Two Florida deputies were fired after their steamy love affair was exposed.
The Seminole County deputies were accused of frequently leaving their posts to have an extramarital affair.
The affair came to light when the wife of Deputy Joseph Fetchick, synchronized her iPad to her husband’s phone and found thousands of explicit text messages from his lover.
According to investigators, Fetchick and Valencia LaRue
send each other about sent 7,000 text messages. The text messages detailed the affair between the two, and it all happened while one or both were on duty.
The text messages proved that the two were intimate and had sex while on the job.
Sheriff’s investigators found that Fetchick and LaRue were guilty of abandoning their positions, conduct unbecoming of an officer and violating ethics rules.
Fetchick was fired, while LaRue resigned before he could be terminated.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, will decide whether to strip their certifications so that they can never be law enforcement in the state.
The deputies hired a lawyer to file a lawsuit to get their jobs back as the text messages, which exposed their affair, were obtained through illegal means.
