(Scroll down for video) Dozens of dogs that were in love got married at a mass wedding ceremony in Peru, a video uploaded to the Internet showed.

The dog couples became married couples at the mass canine wedding in Lima, over the weekend.

The dog brides were dressed in white wedding gowns and the dog grooms were dressed in black tuxedos. About 40 animals, including several chihuahuas and shih-tzu dos, married as their owners and bystanders watched.

Ingrid Chavarri, the main organizer of the wedding event, said that the public ceremony aimed to encourage people to be responsible pet owners. “Now, all that remains is for the two dogs to be together and live happily ever after,” Miguel Gomez said after witnessing the marriage of his dog.

The district of San Miguel, issued marriage certificates to the dog couples. It included paw prints of the bride and groom.
