(Scroll down for video) A man left his son home alone for long periods of time and came to check on him periodically.

The young father of South Korea, apparently chose video games over his son. The son died of starvation.

The father, Chung, 22, was arrested on suspicion of leaving his child to starve.

It was reported that Chung, who is currently unemployed, left his son alone in his apartment for more than a week, while he went to play computer games at an Internet cafe.

At first, the father returned home once every three days or so to feed the child. However, according to authorities, he then extended the home visits to once a week.

One day, when he came home, he found his two-year-old son dead. Instead of mourning the death of his son and take responsibility for the tragedy, the father allegedly left his son’s body in the apartment for a month.

He eventually reported the child missing. The father was seen in his building’s security camera video riding the elevator with a suitcase in his hand.

His son’s rotting body was later discovered inside the suitcase, which was laying in a garden.

Chung was arrested and charged with the death of his son.
