(Scroll down for video) A Bay Ridge woman is dead after being stabbed by her husband several days before she was to open her own pizza shop, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that they have charged the man with the murder of his wife.
52-year-old Hasan Rugova, was charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Police were called to a six-story building located on Marine Avenue and 95th Street, shortly before 2:30 a.m.
Rugova is accused of stabbing his wife, and tried to kill himself. However, his 14-year-old son grabbed away the knife. The boy also suffered injuries. The victim was identified as 46-year-old Gyltene Rugova. She suffered a fatal stab wound to the neck .
His son Abraham was found with a slash wound on his right forearm inside the apartment, and the husband had a stab wound to the stomach. Both were taken to Lutheran Medical Center and are in stable condition.
The 11-year-old daughter was in the apartment at the time, but did not witness the stabbings. The couple also has two other children, a 19-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter, who were not home at the time.
Police said that the family had no history of domestic incidents. The woman was set to open a pizza place a few blocks away at 4th Avenue and 96th Street, on Wednesday.
