(Scroll down for video) A family suffered extremely tragic incidents when they lost three members in one day.
The incidents began when a man died of natural causes, and when his daughters were on the way to his funeral, their car collided with a train.
Natalia Lahova, 63, and her sister Lioudmila, 60, traveled to the funeral of their father Artem, when their car was hit by a freight train after they were “distracted by grief.”
The tragedy occurred near the Russian city of Kursk, as
Artem, 87, a veteran of the Second World War, was being buried with full military honors.
“We have CCTV footage of the scene and it appears that both women did not realize that a train was headed their way when they were crossing,” a police spokesperson said.
Emergency workers who arrived at the scene, said that the sisters were killed instantly.
The police spokesman also said that a full investigation will take place.
