A man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana after allegedly blowing pot smoke into a police officer’s face, police in Massachusetts said.
Springfield Police said that the man was arrested on Tuesday night, after being accused of driving through a stop sign and smoking marijuana as the police officer was questioning him.
Police officer J. B. Stern, was looking to catch seat belt violators as part of the annual Click It or Ticket campaign, when he saw a white vehicle going through the stop sign.
Not only was he not wearing his seat belt, but he was smoking marijuana. 30-year-old Ricky Allende rolled down the car window. “Are you smoking marijuana while operating a motor vehicle?” Officer Stern asked.
“Why, yes I am, officer,” Allende replied. Allende of 39 Central Street, was charged with operating a vehicle while on drugs, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to wear a seat belt.
A ticket for possession of marijuana was also issued.
