Brooklyn Police said that they arrested the fourth graders on Tuesday, for allegedly trying to poison the teacher.
The incident occurred on Monday at P. S. 315 in Flatbush. The children, aged 9 and 12, put a substance consistent with rat poisoning in the water bottle of their 62-year-old teacher.
She drank the water and became nauseous, but was treated and is now recovering. The teacher went to the police after several students told their parents that they saw the boys putting something in the bottle and the parents notified the school.
The children were charged with attempted assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
