(Scroll down for video) Jay Leno told an Israeli television station that he is enjoying his first vacation in 22 years in Israel.
After twenty years of hosting “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Leno said that his transition into retirement is going perfect.
Leno also said that he feels liberated. This week, he made his first trip to Israel, to host an awards ceremony honoring former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his philanthropic efforts.
The 64-year-old Leno retired earlier this year and was replaced by former “Saturday Night Live” host Jimmy Fallon. Leno said the best part was not having the burden of preparing for the show every day.
Leno had no problem professing his admiration for Israel at a time when the pro-Palestinian activists have urged artists to boycott the Jewish state. “I am a strong supporter of Israel and have always been,” he said. “It is a democracy in the Middle East, and I do not like to see the little guy being picked on by the big guy,” he also said.
