29-year-old Jerry Pocklington of Illinois, decided to leave his wife and marry her young daughter instead.

Pocklington, who is registered sex offender, began a sexual relationship with the child about a year ago.
One day, they decided to run away together.

The pair spent two days on the run before police found them. They left Litchfield, Illinois, and hitchhiked to St. Louis, Missouri. From there, they went to Maryland Heights.

The couple found an unlocked van in a parking lot. They stayed in the van for the night, where the two had sex, according to police.

The next morning, witnesses spotted the suspicious pair and called police. Pocklington attempted to flee, but was captured.

The stepdaughter is now with relatives, but she hasn’t been reunited with her mother. Pocklington, who is still married to the victim’s mother, faces statutory rape charges.
