A man was arrested on charges of theft after being seen stealing a bread truck and making deliveries in the nude, police in New York said.

The Port Authority Police of New York and New Jersey, arrested 29-year-old David Bastar after following a limousine driver in Queens.

Bastar’s adventure began on Monday in Manhattan, at the corner of Second Avenue and 95th Street. The truck driver for Grimaldi’s Home of Bread, left his truck running as he entered a pizzeria to make a delivery.

Bastar, who is an unlicensed driver, allegedly jumped into the truck and drove off. He continued to deliver bread in the nude.

Bastar went on to distribute about $8,000 of baked goods, the company said. At some point, Bastar began tailgating a limousine, startling the driver, 43-year-old Armando Sigcha of New Jersey.

Sigcha was on his way to pick up guests at La Guardia airport, when he saw the truck following inches behind. For the next two miles Sigcha tried to speed away from the truck, driving slower than faster, flashing his lights and making sharp turns, but nothing worked.

Finally, he called his dispatcher and the Port Authority Police waited for Bastar on the airport road. Bastar was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for a mental health evaluation and later charged with criminal possession of stolen property and driving without a license.
