A court in Germany, has issued a ruling, stating that all former lovers must delete each other’s photos upon request.
The Higher Regional Court of Koblenz, issued their ruling on Tuesday, stating that when a relationship ends, sexy photos should be deleted, if one of the former partners demands it.
The ruling came about after a couple of the Lahn-Dill region of Hesse, ended up in court over photos and videos.
The man, a photographer, had taken many erotic videos and intimate photos during the course of the relationship.
The woman had consented to it, even taking some photos herself.
When the couple separated, she demanded that he delete all videos and photos in which she appeared.
The court agreed, stating consent to use and possess erotic privately recorded images may be removed by the former partner on the basis of individual rights, which are valued higher than the property rights of the photographer.
However, the court also ruled that the former partner of the woman had no need to delete pictures and videos showing the woman in a dressed state.
