(Scroll down for video) A man told investigators that he killed his wife because he was “sick and tired of changing his wife’s diapers,” police in Connecticut said.

John Dewees Jr., 49, of Enfield, murdered Anja Dewees, 46, and is facing a charge of first-degree murder.

The suspect’s only son told investigators that his father abused him and his mother for years.

Police found Anja Dewees dead at the home of the couple, located at 4 Magnolia Drive, on Thursday night.

Police began investigating the death after a neighbor had called authorities at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, to report that John Dewees was acting weird.

After getting a search warrant for the house, officers entered and found the body in a bedroom.

During an interview with police, Dewees said that his wife had been ill for about four years and he had been taking care of her.

He fed and bathed her.

He told investigators that he and his wife had been drinking on Tuesday night, and she hit her head while he was putting her into the bathtub.

Dewees put his wife back into bed and went to sleep.

Wednesday morning, he knew his wife was dead, but he did not call anybody because he wanted to stay with her for a couple of days.

Police noticed inconsistencies in the story.

Later, Dewees admitted to pushing his wife into the bathtub and hitting the side of her head because he was tired of changing diapers every day.

He said that he was upset because his wife had soiled herself and ruined his good time.

A medical examiner performed an autopsy and determined that Anja Dewees died of blunt force injuries to the head with a fractured skull.
