A woman who wanted to take revenge against her husband’s secret lover, advertised her as a prostitute, a court in the United Kingdom has heard.

Now, a plumber and his former wife, who created hundreds of fake sex site profiles saying that the woman with whom the husband had an affair with was a prostitute, have been jailed for harassment.

Rachel Lyne suffered from a seven year long hate campaign before moving 350 miles away to Cornwall, in order to escape the constant stream of men who came to her door expecting sex. Parents and neighbors of Lyne, received letters claiming that she was a prostitute, a drug dealer and a cheat.

The harassment escalated to a point where up to four men were appearing each day at the home waiting for sexual services after hundreds of dating profiles and fake online sex pages were created in her name. Richard and Amanda Holman have been sentenced to 26 weeks in jail each after being convicted of harassing Lyne.

Lyne, 48, said that the couple had destroyed every aspect of her life. Lyne discovered that profiles have been created on Google Plus, Twitter, Jumble, Smooch.com and numerous adult dating sites.

The police were called and the profiles were traced to the IP address of Holman.
