(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after killing two boys because they recorded him asking them for sex, prosecutors in Colorado said.
44-year-old William Dean Otto, was convicted of first-degree murder on Tuesday.

Otto argued that the shootings were committed in self-defense after the two boys threatened him with a kitchen knife. The victims were identified as Jonathan Gonzalez, 15, and 16-year-old Gustavo “Danny” Espinosa-Gamboa.

They were found buried in shallow graves in Sedgwick County. Both had gunshot wounds.

Friends told investigators that the children had a cellphone video of Otto, which showed him requesting to perform a sex act on one of the teenagers. The two planned to ask Otto for money in exchange for not going to the police.

Prosecutors told jurors that Otto killed the children to keep the incident a secret. In addition to the two counts of first-degree murder, Otto was also convicted of four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Otto managed to destroy the cellphone, and the video was never recovered.
