(Scroll down for video) A mother became hysterical after a woman who was dressed as a nurse, kidnapped her baby from a hospital room, police in Canada said.

Now, Melissa McMahon and Simon Boisclair of Quebec, are breathing easier after they were reunited with their baby daughter, Victoria.

The incident began when McMahon gave birth on Sunday, to her fourth child. About 7:00 p.m. on Monday, the woman dressed as a nurse appeared at the Trois-Rivieres hospital and entered the maternity ward.

The woman took the baby from the mother, and left the room. The newborn was wrapped in a blue blanket.

McMahon realized that something was wrong. She went to get the baby, and she was not able to find her.

She immediately feared that her baby has been kidnapped. An Amber Alert was issued.

Several friends who saw the Amber Alert on Facebook, sprung into action. As they headed toward the hospital, they saw an image of the suspect and a vehicle description posted on Facebook.

One of the friends said that she immediately recognized the woman as her former neighbor. The group went to the building where the former neighbor lived and saw a red car with a baby on board sign that matched the description of the Amber Alert.

The friends called the police, and within minutes the baby was in the arms of the officers. The 21-year-old suspect is now in a hospital and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
