(Scroll down for video) Four car passengers are lucky to be alive after their vehicle suddenly fell into a large sinkhole, rescue workers in Indiana said.
The bizarre incident unfolded in Evansville, when the car along with four family members fell into the ground.
According to rescue workers who arrived at the scene, the sinkhole suddenly opened and swallowed the car. However, emergency personnel managed to get everyone to safety.
According to the initial investigation, the sinkhole was caused by a 70-year-old sewer line. Local residents reported that they had noticed the road feeling strange in the days before the incident.
“It felt soft, but we did not think it would be a sinkhole,” the residents said. The vehicle was later pulled out from the sinkhole by a tow truck.
