A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of murder for overfeeding her baby until she died, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

The woman of Ghana, was also ordered to leave the country.

However, a Superior Court ruled that the mother can stay in England, because of Human Rights. The court also ruled that the woman can live in the same house with her three surviving children.

The court said that it had granted the woman’s request based on Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects the right to private and family life. The court also ruled that the identity of the 33-year-old woman remain private.

According to the police investigation, the woman who was obsessed with the weight of her little daughter, poured liquefied food into her mouth with a milk jug. Many people have criticized the court’s decision.

“Many people will look at this case and feel that it reflects the distorted nature of our human rights laws today. We need a Conservative majority government to stop these perverse outcomes, and restore some balance and common sense,” Dominic Raab, a Conservative member of parliament, said.

The baby died of respiratory pneumonia due to the force feeding technique. The mother was jailed for three years after being convicted of causing or allowing the death of a child in care.
