A man was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly killing a taxi driver over $0.06 – police in Nigeria said.
Ibadan State Police said that they arrested 32-year-old Seyi Lawal, after being accused of killing Olawale Feyisetan in a dispute over N10 taxi fare.
Paramedics who responded to the scene, said that passersby tried to help Feyisetan after he was stabbed, but he collapsed and died. In May, a taxi driver was killed by a teenager while doing his job, according to police in Pennsylvania.
The 16-year-old passenger ordered the driver to take shortcuts to get to his destination faster. However, when the driver did not follow the teen’s orders, he was shot and killed, according to police.
Aazis Richardson will be spending many years behind bars. Richardson was charged with murder after police said he shot 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio, twice in the head.
The driver’s body was found in his vehicle shortly before 5:00 a.m., near the entrance to a Scranton housing complex. Richardson allegedly told police that he became angry because the taxi driver was taking the long way and scamming him.
Richardson told investigators that the driver kept taking longer routes even after being told about the shortcuts. Richardson was arrested and a firearm was also recovered. Darbenzio only began working for the taxi company several weeks ago.
