A man was placed behind bars after calling police to report that his wife was throwing away beer, police in Florida said.
West palm Beach Police said that they arrested the man after being accused of repeatedly making 911 calls to the police on Monday.
The police responded to calls made by 49-year-old Carlos Bueno Mir, of the 4000 block of Pinewood Avenue. When police officers arrived, Mir appeared intoxicated and told them that his wife had thrown away his beer.
The police officers explained to him that the situation was not an emergency and advised him not to call 911 unless there was an emergency. However, Mir called 911 again and stopped cooperating with the operator, refusing to say why he was calling.
Mir called 911 a third time, and started screaming that his wife threw away two bottles of beer. Police said that Mir called 911 a total of 7 times in a span of just four hours.
He faces charges of misusing the 911 emergency system. Mir’s wife was not charged with any crime.
