A man was arrested on charges of murder after allegedly killing a man and dumping the murder weapon in a Hasidic synagogue, police in Canada said.
Montreal Police said that the shooting unfolded at a bar located at 5240 Park Avenue on Saturday morning.
The 23-year-old man has died, while a 21-year-old woman was injured in the shooting incident. The 25-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting, but no charges have been filed so far.
Police said that they were called to the scene after shots were fired at 2:40 a.m. When police arrived at the scene they found the two victims, who were taken to a hospital.
The man who was shot at least once in the upper body, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The woman also suffered a gunshot to her upper body, but her injuries are not considered life threatening.
The suspect was arrested in a car a few blocks from the scene. The suspect remains in custody and is expected to face murder charges on Monday.
On Sunday afternoon, a Hasidic man found the gun used in the shooting at the Munkatch synagogue.
