The man of North Carolina, was injured after his stepdaughter allegedly attacked him with an ax because she hated the gospel music he was constantly playing.
The stepfather, 72-year-old Reginald Robinson, suffered injuries to the head and hand. He was taken to a hospital and released after receiving stitches for his wounds.
Mary Katherine Atkinson, 32, of Mount Holly, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She was taken to Gaston County Jail and is being held on $100,000 bond.
Police said that the suspect told her mother that she was sick of hearing the gospel music and that she was “going to cut him with the ax.”
Robinson was surprised by the actions of Atkinson, as she has lived with her mother for over a year.
Thankfully, he was able to subdue her before he was fatally injured.
