(Scroll down for video) A marriage proposal between a firefighter and a police officer took place while they were on duty, a video uploaded to the Internet showed.

Jesse Gonzalez of Texas, enlisted the help of friends and coworkers to set up a marriage proposal for his girlfriend, who is a police officer.

The Houston firefighter went to extraordinary lengths to surprise his girlfriend with a proposal during the weekend.

Gonzalez got the support and the help of two stations, the Houston Fire Department and members of the Houston Police Department.

Everything worked out as planned. Gonzalez, who has been a firefighter for 11 years, used his friend’s house to stage the fire. Dry ice was billowing out of the garage to complete the effect.

He summoned fire trucks to the scene and his girlfriend’s unit was dispatched to help out and supervise the area. Gonzalez came out of the garage in full firefighter gear and walked over to his girlfriend, Olga Peck, and proposed to her.

Peck was surprised and overjoyed as she said: “Yes.” The two exchanged hugs and kisses.

Firefighters assured people that they were listening to their radios during the entire ordeal in case of real emergencies.

Gonzalez pointed out that anyone can avail themselves to this service. He wrote: “anyone can fill this form out and request a fire truck or a police car to attend an event as long as its in the city limits. Its called Public Relations and both fire and police do them all the time at schools, businesses, birthday parties, etc. When any emergency unit is doing a PR, they must be in service and ready to respond.”
