The family of California, was spending time together at their Riverside home.

They had food and alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy.

However, after consuming alcohol, an argument broke out between the father and his grown daughter. 37-year-old Soukvilay Barton, stormed out of the home and got into her car.

Her 69-year-old father, Bounmy Rajsombath, pleaded with her not to drive her BMW convertible while intoxicated as he did not want her to get into an accident.

However, she refused to listen. As her father stood in the driveway behind her car, Barton reversed and knocked him to the ground.

Paramedics and police arrived at the scene, but it was too late. Rajsombath was pronounced dead at a hospital in Riverside.

After discovering that she fatally hit her father Barton sobbed until she was taken into custody. Barton was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and is being held on $75,000 bond.

The deceased was a former military officer of the Laotian Army, and ran a refugee camp in Thailand, during the Vietnam war.
