Obese man caught hiding drugs under stomach fat after being stopped for driving without seatbelt

(Scroll down for video) An obese man who was stopped by police for driving without a seatbelt, was caught hiding drugs under his stomach fat, police in Florida said.

Volusia County Police said that the incident occurred at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, while officers were stationed along State Road 415 in Osteen.

They saw the car passing by and noticed that the passenger, who is quite large, was not wearing his seatbelt. When the vehicle stopped the officers approached, and they noticed that both the driver and passenger were nervous.

At 450 pounds, the passenger, Christopher Mitchell, 42, said he was too big to wear the belt. Officers brought a K-9 drug detection team to the scene.

The dog quickly alerted police to the presence of drugs. During the search investigators found 23 grams of marijuana hidden under the stomach fat of Mitchell.

A .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun and more than $7,000 in cash were stuffed in his sock. The driver, Keithian Roberts, 38, of Sanford, and Mitchell of Deltona, were arrested.

Roberts was charged with possession of cocaine, and Mitchell was charged with possession of marijuana and was also cited for not wearing a seatbelt.
