(Scroll down for video) Five children were left without their mother after she was shot and killed by her criminal boyfriend.
The 40-year-old woman of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was killed by a man, who was declared one of the “most wanted” by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations.
31-year-old Cashman Perkins, was also described as armed and dangerous. Perkins, who was accused of killing the mother of five, was captured after he fled to Mississippi.
He was arrested about 1:00 a.m., by the U.S. Marshals with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Frances “Prin Prin” Smith was gunned down at her home by Perkins, who neighbors described as Smith’s live-in boyfriend.
Smith was a counselor and listened to anyone in need. She was also a mother figure to some children in the community.
The children fondly called her the “candy lady” because she sold candy and frozen treats.
Perkins is being held in Mississippi, awaiting extradition to Tennessee, so he can face murder charges.
