Now, the man has been sentenced to 75 years behind bars.
Dallas County prosecutors said that 31-year-old Matthew Louis Reese, pleaded guilty in a Dallas County court to assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated sexual assault with grievous bodily harm and sexual assault of a child.
During a seven-month relationship with the girl, Reese repeatedly had sex with the girl. He did not tell her that he was infected with HIV.
The girl, who was 15 years old when she first met Reese, said that she met Reese when he called a chat line. The victim admitted that she told Reese she was 17 years old, but later that night, she admitted that she was 15 years old.
Reese told the child’s mother that he was 18 years old, and she allowed her daughter to stay in contact with him. When the teen became ill, she was hospitalized and fell into a coma for two weeks before she was diagnosed with HIV.
