With so many pedophiles out there who want to hurt young kids, most parents are concerned when their kids log onto the Internet and hook up with strangers.
However, one mother went online to find a stranger, who was willing to drive her son to Florida, so she does not have to drive him their.
The mother of Georgia, was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after she planned to send her 9-year-old son to visit his grandparents in Florida, with a stranger.
Shelia Sherrie Joyner allegedly went to the online site Craigslist, where she answered an advertisement from a man looking to share expenses for a trip to Florida.
She did not know the man and she had no information about him, not even his last name. However, she agreed to pay the man to drive her son from Georgia to Florida.
When the man learned that his passenger will be an underage child without his parents’ supervision, he became concerned and called the police.
According to the arrest warrant, an undercover officer made arrangements to pick up the child on Friday, and went to the designated location to meet Joyner.
The mother did not bring her child to meet the man, instead, she sent him with a babysitter and lied to the babysitter saying that the driver was a friend.
Joyner was arrested on Friday afternoon, at her apartment and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her bail was set at $1,000.
