(Scroll down for video) A boy who is extremely fearful of dentists, faked his own kidnapping in order to miss his scheduled appointment, police in France said.

The dentist is probably one of the least favorite place for kids, but some young people will go to greater lengths than others to avoid seeing one.

Saint Gervais Police said that the 12-year-old boy of Alpine Village, told police that he had been kidnapped. The boy was found by police while hiding on a quiet street.

When questioned by the police, the boy immediately said that he was kidnapped from the nearby town of Bagnols. He even gave officers a detailed description of the man who kidnapped him.

“European looking, about 30 years old, muscular build, average height and a vertical scar on his right cheek,” the boy said. The kidnapper allegedly wore a black shirt and light jeans, the boy reported.

Police quickly developed a computer generated image of the suspect. The boy was also able to give details of the car the suspect was driving and what happened during the kidnapping.

He told officers that he went to his dentist appointment when a man stopped to ask directions. After a brief exchange, the man forced him into the vehicle and sped off.

He then told police that he escaped when the car stopped in Saint Gervais. Police launched an investigation and began reviewing security camera footage.

While being questioned for a second time, the boy admitted that he invented the whole story because he was afraid of the dentist.
