A man was arrested for attempted murder after shooting his girlfriend, according to police in Alaska.

Anchorage Police responded to a call of a shooting in East Anchorage on Friday, about 11:30 p.m.

The shooting occurred at a mobile home park located at 1001 Boniface.

According to witnesses, the shooter, 24-year-old James Vue, had gotten into an argument about finances with the mother of his four children, 23-year-old “M.M.”

The argument escalated to a point where Vue produced a gun and fired two shots at M.M., one of which entered her neck, shattering her spine. The victim, who is 7 months pregnant, was transported to a local hospital where she is in critical condition. At this time, the baby appears to be unharmed.

Vue was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Vue also had a warrant for failure to appear in court on an earlier domestic violence charge. Vue was taken to the Anchorage Jail where he is being held without bail.
