(Scroll down for video) A young female hospital patient suffered injuries after a bullet was shot through the window of her room, police in New York said.
The New York Police Department said that the patient was injured by broken glass when the bullet flew through the window on the eighth floor.
It happened about 5:45 a.m. on Friday, at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for Special Surgery. The 30-year-old woman suffered facial cuts from the glass.
A bullet hole was clearly visible. Bullet fragments were found on the floor of the patient’s room. The shooting rattled visitors of the hospital.
“I feel bad because the hospital has an excellent reputation, and I would come back here if I ever needed surgery,” one patient said. The Hospital for Special Surgery said it was cooperating with the police in the investigation.
Police said that they do not know where the bullet came from.
