A man is dead after being beheaded on a busy highway while trying to run away from police, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that the driver was decapitated when his car crashed into the back of a flatbed truck on Tuesday.
The awful wreck happened when police tried to pull over the black Infiniti G35 on the Gowanus Expressway near Hamilton Avenue. When the driver tried to leave the motorway at Atlantic Avenue near Hicks Street, the car collided with the rear of the truck, removing the driver’s head.
According to witnesses, the car was traveling around 75 miles per hour at the time of the crash. A passenger exited the car and tried to run after the accident, but was quickly detained by the police and taken to Lutheran Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 22-year-old Leroy Samuel. Police said that they were just trying to issue him a traffic ticket, when he suddenly sped away.
