(Scroll down for video) An adorable 6-year-old boy is making headlines after he won a spelling bee while competing with older kids.

The kindergarten student reportedly spells on a seventh grade level.

Kazim Ali was able to win the spelling bee at the Jordan School district elementary school in Utah. He was younger than most Eastlake Elementary school students who participated in the competition, but that did not stop him from winning.

Ali said that he likes to read books and to color. He also said that it was his mother’s idea to enter him into the spelling bee.

School officials said that kindergartners usually don’t make it beyond the first round. Ali was the first 6-year-old child to win at the school. He won the bee by spelling the word sapphire.

The intelligent boy is enjoying the attention that winning has brought him. He now wants to compete in the National Spelling Bee.
