It was an embarrassing moment for a new father when he was arrested and taken out of the hospital in handcuffs.
The Florida father was arrested while visiting his wife after she had given birth.
36-year-old Daniel Suba of Volusia County, was arrested in front of his wife after allegedly breaking a window to enter the home of his neighbor, and taking several bags of jewelry, two televisions, a laptop, a camera, and 17 pairs of jeans.
He also allegedly grabbed a Captain America mask and a Monsters Inc. lunch box before he left. In total, Suba is was accused of stealing $7,000 worth of goods from his neighbor’s apartment.
The man was exposed after a maintenance worker who was doing work in Suba’s apartment, saw the stolen property, and alerted the victim and police.
The 36-year-old suspect allegedly told police he was drinking and taking Xanax on the night of the robbery, and he did not remember the act. Suba claimed that when he woke up he found all the items in his home.
Suba’s wife allegedly told police that he did bring home stuff from time to time even though he is unemployed.
Police arrested Suba on felony charges of grand theft and burglary. His bail was set at $6,000.
