(Scroll down for video) A 22-year-old woman is lucky to be alive after she was run over by three trains.
The New York woman has survived being hit by three trains in Manhattan this week.
Mary Downey, who lives in Woodlawn in the Bronx, was drunk when she fell onto the tracks. She escaped with only a broken shoulder.
The woman fell onto the tracks at the 49th Street station near Times Square at 6:00 a.m., when she was making her way home after a night of partying.
She lost her balance while waiting on the platform, breaking her shoulder on the way down just before a train arrived.
Downey managed to squeeze herself between the rails as the train rode over her, avoiding being crushed to death.
Downey was finally discovered when the third train operator saw the hand waving for help. The subway operator managed to stop, but not before the third car was above her.
Metro staff called 911 and emergency crews arrived to remove Downey from under the train, police said.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated for a broken shoulder. Downey was released a few hours later in a wheelchair with a sling.
A group of friends came to support her and later took Downey home with a taxi.
