(Scroll down for video) U.S. fast food giant Burger King, began selling its first gay burger.

The branch in San Francisco, California, has expressed its support for gays with the introduction of the “Proud Whopper,” which is just a normal Whopper wrapped in a rainbow package.

“We are all the same inside,” a message on the wrapper reads. The sandwich is being sold for $4.29. Burger King has also launched a video about the sandwich.

“I hope that when they see what we are trying to do here, people will drive around this message of equality,” Fernando Machado, senior vice president of Burger King for global brand management, said.

If the video is well received, he would consider expanding the campaign, which is part of the new “Be Your Way” marketing strategy, replacing its longstanding “Have It Your Way” slogan.

More than half of gay and lesbian consumers surveyed said that they were more likely to buy products from companies that market directly to them.
