(Scroll down for video) A young boy was devastated when he was ordered to leave a restaurant because he was wearing a sleeveless shirt.
The 4-year-old boy pf Atlanta, Georgia, was asked to leave the restaurant at Phipps Plaza, because his shirt violated the dress code.
Lewis Roberts however, thought the his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt looked awesome. When he and his family tried to sit down for lunch at the Tavern at Phipps, he was told he did not meet the dress code for men.
After the child’s family explained that he was only 4 years old, the employee told them that they had to leave. When asked to speak to a manager, the manager told them that the dress code was extended to all ages.
The manager also told them to leave.
A spokesperson for the company issued a statement:
“The rule does not apply to children and women, only for men. It was an embarrassing misunderstanding on our part. The employee who ordered the child to leave, was a manager in training. She misunderstood our policy. We apologize and are reaching out to the family.”
The Roberts family accepted the company’s apology, and they plan to return.
